Heaven's Treasures Introduction

![]() |
I decided to make this web site in memory of my very dear friend, Mike DeRoseau, who I lost on September 2, 1996. In the 5 short years I knew him and from his death, my life has changed forever. I never gave much thought to the spiritual world until I searched every medium to ease my pain. Nothing can bring a loved one back to us, but becoming more aware of the spiritual world can bring you the peace, strength, faith and hope that we all need to carry on in our lives - until we are all reunited again.
For those of you who are skeptical, I only ask that you keep an open mind. Humans, by nature, are accustomed to only believing in things we can see - we depend so heavily on facts and proof. Unfortunately, there is no 100% concrete proof that Heaven and the afterlife really exists. Because we can't touch it, see it, hear it, feel it, it makes it harder to believe in. But you have to. To live a life without faith is not living at all. If you think for a moment, all that we go through in our lives - joy, pain, learning, doing - how could it possibly be for nothing? How could it possibly end? Well, it doesn't.
Since Mike's death, I have read several books which have supported my beliefs in the spiritual world. I share several of them throughout this web site with hope you too will believe. I hope, after visiting this site, you will find yourself a little less skeptical, and will also find a bit more hope and faith than you had before you came here.
Death is as much a part of life as life itself. I wish you would never have to experience losing a loved one, because I know the pain and sorrow that comes with it. But it's inevidible that you will face the death of a loved one sometime in your life. It's difficult, believe me, I know, but it doesn't have to mean you spend the rest of your life hurting.
Over the years, I've experienced and heard of so many unexplainable things occuring after the death of a loved one - so many that I find it impossible to believe that there's nothing more out there.
When I first created this site, it was my place to escape and "talk about" my pain. Over time, my focus changed with the goal of helping others deal with their grief. Helping others in turn helped me deal with my grief.
Over the years, I've often considered taking this site down because I didn't have the time to update it as often as I'd like to. I figured if I couldn't do with it what I wanted to and have it be the best it could be, then there was no sense in having it at all. But every time I thought about it, I'd get an e-mail from a visitor that would bring me to tears, telling me how my site changed their life and gave them hope again; it helped them see the light. It's almost as though some higher power makes someone write me every time I consider taking it down. Thank God for that!
